[QUOTE="gohring3006, post: 2737784, member: 78762"] Just a couple things I do to Remmy 700s in my basement and they feel and shoot great. I lap the lugs for smoothness and contact, I don’t have a lathe so I can’t true the bolt face, not the action face, but I always use a aftermarket recoil lug, I always polish with 3000 grit sandpaper on my square bar stock anvil, to polish the action face, I don’t remove any metal, bit I want any rust or grime gone. You can tell the difference when doing this, the barrel doesn’t take as much turning to get everything squished up tight. I blame it on dirty threads, dirty bolt face and a not flat factory recoil lug that acts like a lock washer if it’s not flat, and will spin up soft not like a hard wall with tight tolerance stuff. This action is currently waiting on a barrel from Outlier/Arken. 26” 1-8 twist 308 Winchester. I’m going to give it a try in 308, if I like it I’m going to order a 300 prc prefit and do one up. The warranty Mike is offering on his barrels made the choice easy.
