Jeff, I had a feeling.......grin. I've never shot a 168 in my 30-06 so I couldn't give a comparison to a 200+ in field shooting. I have shot the following in the 30-06 with very good accuracy to 1500 yards or so, and even stretched it to a mile in good conditions. 208 AMax - 2800 fps (26" bbl) 208 AMax - 2720 fps (22" bbl) 210 Berger - 2800 fps (26" bbl) 220 SMK - 2750 fps (26" bbl) 240 SMK - 2620 fps (26" bbl) RL22 was the propellant in all of these, and bullets moly'd. Recently I've been shooting the moly'd 208 AMax over RL17, getting 2740 fps from 22" bbl at 70F. Anyway, these are a few bullets that have really worked well for me inthe 30-06, to distances well beyond 1000 yards. The Berger 215 should really do well too. I'd guess it can run at least as fast as the 208, maybe even a little bit faster given the bearing surface. Then there's the Berger 230, I'd guess 2650-2700 fps from a 26" bbl. So many bullets, so little time........grin If you are able to stretch your rifle to 1000 and beyond on a regular basis, try shooting a few of the heavies beside the 168, and the difference will be very evident, especially if you have some wind. If you seldom get past 600 yards or so, the beauty of the heavies will probably not be fully appreciated.
