Been awhile since my last post and while speaking with Speedy Gonzalez about the Kelby 34mm rings he just happened to have for my new scope after the US Optics 15 years ago) I had built gave up the ghost on my (used two different models which it subtended out to be 0.17 MOA I have a couple of more on other rifles)Texas long distance rifle (Warp 7 wildcat based on a 300 Win Mag see in pic also use a 338 Slowpoke a Lapua wildcat we tried for BR and I have a couple of sporters he built as well) we discussed his newest interest the last few years ELR 2 mile shooting. When competing at 1k in IBS these type cartridges are not useable in the LG category as they have horrid bag manners due to recoil. I shoot on the ranch in far SE NM right on the Texas border south of Carlsbad. This cartridge sounds like just the ticket! Will work great in a magazine compared to the longer cartridges and Speedy has shot extensively with this round and in his terms "shoots dots" and it is much better in bucking the wind which out there blows all of the time! So------tell me from those who have experience with this round and the Berger pills for it what I should know before cutting chips as they say. :) The plan is to use H1000 as Speedy has determined this to work the best in the rifles he has built and shot. The optics will be the same as the rifle pictured below.
