Made it out this morning but it wasn't the greatest conditions. Winds blowing 20 mph and some pretty good mirage. I taped 100 yard target up and cleaned the barrel. 1st shot was about 1" low and right at 3144fps. Strelok figured about 2.75" high at 100 to be dead on at 300 so I made a little circle for POI. Made corrections on the Leupold and let 5 more go for a group and crono check. Not greatest 5 shot group but considering conditions and I havent even begun to tweak the load any yet. Velocity went 3137, 3144, 3167, 3144, and 3159 for average of 3150fps. I then decided to try my luck and dialed 17.75 MOA for the 965 yard gong and 7 MOA for wind which I thought was around 20 MPH at 1/2 value. Snuggled in behind the A5 and Leupold cranked up to 20x and squeezed the 1.5# only to see a dust cloud about 1.5 ft low and about 2 ft left. Definately put on to much wind and needed to add another few elevation clicks. So I then dialed 19 MOA elevation and 5 MOA for wind and another miss. This however was perfect elevation wise and just missed the left edge of the plate. I took another 2 MOA off for wind, which now put me at 3 MOA. Slowly squeezed the trigger and was watching and waiting to see or hear that sweet sound of steel, and she finally rang!! 9 o'clock top impact. Decided to take another .5 MOA off for wind and shot 3 more. 2nd hit was 6 o'clcok bottom impact. 3rd hit was right underneath the 1st at 9 o'clock. 4th hit was right above the 2nd and was on the 4 o'clock edge of the bull. Spotting my own shots with this is a breeze, so nice. I decided to call it quits and save some ammo and wait for a better day to do anymore shooting. Still had a blast even though the wind was just ridiculous. Cant wait to get out there on a no wind day and see what we can do with it. Specs on the rifle as follows. REM 700 stainless BDL action Rem trigger reworked to 1.5# PTG .250" recoil lug Bartlein 28" 5R Stainless Rem varmint contour .820" at muzzle Nathans .875" 4 Port Muzzle Brake Custom oversized tactical bolt knob McMillan A5 stock, with pillars and bedded Leupold VX3 LR 6.5-20x50sf, Fine duplex Scope level Nightforce ACI angle indicator Weaver 20 MOA base/rings Stock pack Bi-pod Weight=13.5 lbs
