I would also like to see something about how barrels are constructed by different barrel-makers, including the methods used for rifling and types of stainless steel used, unless all the metal in the barrel blanks are similar. In other words, if I were to search for a new barrel for varmint hunting, what information could I use to choose a particular barrel....or do they all have the same molecular structure and construction. The reason I am interested is because I heard a comment at a gun shop recently that "target" barrels wear out faster than other barrels. Well...???. What does that mean? I should have stuck around and asked some questiohs, but my wife was waiting in the truck. But, it made me think that I knew less about barrels than I do (which is practically nothing) or that the comment I heard came from one who was some barrel guru. Yes, I supposed the answers can be found in some digest like "Precision Shooting," but I let my subscription lapse years ago and I don't want another magazine subscription. Since the authors of articles on LRS seem to be quite knowledgeable, I would hope that the information can be found here.
