I have since settled on H-1000 in Lapua brass, Federal GM 215 m primers. I load enough powder for around 3050-3085 fps. I get ES on the average of 10 fps. and SD's of 2-7 fps. Plus very good to outstanding accuracy from a 25" Hart. I have been getting about 7-8 reloads from the brass, so I don't think the load is over the top. Best of all the velocity stays very consistant in temperatures ranging from 24 degrees to 93 degrees. No lie! The once fired Lapua brass holds 2 grs. more water than a once fired Winchester case from my chamber, so it takes a little more powder to reach book velocities. I am loading 180 Partitions and 168 gr. TSX's. The Barnes bullet is a real killer but IMO a little to tough for deer. The Nosler seems to open up better and still pass through. FWIW!

Jim
Suggestions for 300wm I think that I have tried most of the popular powders listed. I have come to like H-4831sc, but have to load it to 77-78 grs. for good accuracy and velocity and that loading is way over book which makes me nervious, even though none of the traditional pressure signs have been noted. Plus very good to outstanding accuracy from a 25" Hart. I have been getting about 7-8 reloads from the brass, so I don't think the load is over the top. Best of all the velocity stays very consistant in temperatures ranging from 24 degrees to 93 degrees. No lie!
