[QUOTE="lm32188, post: 1754009, member: 23122"] [SIZE=5]Looking to buy new scope for my rifle. Rifle is a Ruger no. 1 in 6.5x55 with a 28” Douglas barrel in Light Palma contour, 1:8 twist. My version of Quigley Down Under! Current scope is Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x44 BT 4W. Love the scope, just can’t reach out far enough. I’m stuck trying to make this scope a do it all. And keep it light. Things I like: Reticle for low light shooting ( My Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44 SFP with Rapid Z reticle is great. Very dark and distinct. Can easily pick up in moonlight without illumination). Busted many hogs with this one. Even like the old reticle on Japanese Tasco Titan 3-12x52. Dark etched. Bold. illumination in floating cross or dot. I like my accupoint on my 6.8 3-9x40 green Mil-dot. Busted many hogs!! And I don’t like the controls for illumination on eye piece that stick out. SFP ... is all I know. Can do FFP with right illumination. Value Choices. 1. Sightron Siii 6-24x50 Zero Stop SFP MOA-2 reticle non illuminated. 24oz. How viable is reticle at low light? In the lead if I stay under 800.00 2. Trijicon TR23 Accupoint 5-20x50 Green Mil-dot. 26oz. Not a lot of reviews. Not sure of turret and tracking. 3. Vortex PST Gen ii 5-25x50. 31oz. Not a big fan of illuminated reticle. 4. Nightforce SHV 4-14x50 MOAR SFP reticle. 30oz. Love the illuminated cross reticle. 1000-1200 ish. Would like more magnification.
