Nothing personal intended 3fingervic , hope I didnt sound that way. I know some people use egw's and are happy with them. Maybe on a light small cal low recoil rifle if you bedd them on. But, I have seen the bad side of some EGW's. I could bend them with my hands, and when I tightened them down they were far from square on top. This results in loss of MOA adjustment or a gain of it depending on which way the machining was off. But the uneven force they apply into the scope tube is not good. I have also found that many receivers flex uder recoil in the thin area between the front and back mount screws. A good one piece mount can strengthen this area and stop the flexing from being tansfered to the tube of the scope. I feel this is important in retaining a good zero and a well tracking scope system. I can only get this using good rings and a well fitted strong base. Jeff
