I had a red snapcap in my pocket for the .308 and practiced shooting the big sows over and over. :D They were huge targets and much easier to hold on than the small boars. Here's some answers to the other questions... Was there butchering readily available to your knowledge? Yes. DJ would butcher the hog how you wanted. I am inerested in hogs and if the overtime runs this year like I hope it will, maybe bear, deer & hog! Did you see any deer? Bear? Bobcat? They have deer, turkey, and bobcat and combo hunts. The only animal I saw other than hogs was turkey. How was the lodging? Rooms with two double beds and a separate bathroom. Not the Ritz by more than adequate. There was a great room with a couch, chairs, and TV if you wanted to hang-out and talk. This room was decorated with a lot of interesting mounts. Any other hunters there while you were? Yes. Our group of five was at Sampson lodge. There was another couple who stayed somewhere else. If you wanted to could you have stayed out all day with a bag lunch? Not sure. I suppose you could. Not really necessary for hogs. Would you go back again for deer/bear and hog? I would go again for hogs but have not yet returned.
