[QUOTE="JungleBoogey, post: 1372308, member: 88809"] Hello Andy. Wish I had known you were here. I'm a Vet now working for Uncle Sam in Germany and have had my "Jagdschein" for about 10 years. I used to work about 90km from Wetzlar (Wiesbaden) but I've never hunted there. I have hunted around Giessen though, which is not that far from Wetzlar. I belong to the German hunting association for my area ("Landesjagdverband") and I am fortunate enough to have a "Jagderlaubnis" or a written permission letter to hunt freely on a hunting revier only 15 min from home. I am out hunting sometimes 2 to 3 times a week for roe deer, wild pigs, fox or when in season, ducks and geese. I also get invited to at least 3 or 4 drive hunts over the winter hunting season for Red Deer and Mouflon which of course I attend when possible... for all the reasons you've mentioned. I've experienced everything you talked about... and more. To Zeiss, I happen to own a couple of Duralyts. The price can be right when you can make a good deal with your local Gunsmith. :D I'm "hooked" and I'm looking to get another Zeiss soon... to mount on a Blaser R93 Ulrich "take down" in .308. I intend for it to be my drive hunt rifle of choice. Oops, sorry guys, I didn't mean to go on and on but hunting here in Germany is an experience of a lifetime and such a blast that I got carried away... and driving on the German Autobahn ain't bad either. ;) "Waidmannsheil" to all. Jaeger JungleBoogey  P.S. The practice of learning to shoot at moving targets is a "must" and it is a requirement to be certified every year in order to attend all Federal and State sponsored drive hunts where almost all game is on the move to escape the persuing dogs.
