It was the coolest/eery feeling knowing that they were that close. I'm pretty sure the adults didn't want anything to do with us it was the pups that were the curious ones and came to investigate and the adults were just trying to call them back. If they were actually trying to hunt us I feel like they would have been a lot more stealthy then they were because they were really loud. Well that's my cool wolf story.
I was in the boundary waters up in northern Minnesota 2 months ago and we had a pack of wolves come right into camp the 5 adults stayed back like 40 yards but the 6 pups came right into camp literally like 10 feet away. We all started shouting and making lots of noise when we heard the howling and the yipping getting closer and closer until you could actually see them moving thru the woods. The pups more or less were like hey guys whats going on over here you guys got snacks? But the adults were a lot more vocal. It finally took shooting 3 times over them to scare them out of sight but we could hear them howling and yipping and carrying on for the next hour. Now if only this would have happened when I have a wolf tag:D
