There isn't to much out there for the 270WSM and the wildcats, I've talked to Paul of wildcat bullets and he was shooting the 169.5's out of a Tikka 1-10 twist with just over 24in of barrel and he was running just over 2900 @max but that was about all he had info wise. In a previous thread Kirby Allen had looked into this and thought 3000fps was possible with the right set up. I'm currently getting the coin together to get a Mcgowen 1-9 twist barrel @ 28in long with the intention of running Wildcat 169.5's out of it, hopefully. The extra barrel should get me there. I may be beating a dead horse and should just get a barrel set up for Kirby's 270AM but I would prefer to get the WSM to a decent level@ 1000yrds and save my money for a big 338. I'm shooting a 26in barrel and that helps with the 140's speed and I can take a little more advantage of a case full of slower powder.
