[QUOTE="Fiftydriver, post: 292789, member: 10"] Not trying to be a stick in the mud but please explain to me why this is any different then a 264 Win Mag? In fact, a 264 Win Mag case has a larger powder capacity then what this 6.5-270 Wby case would. This is the same as the 7mm Rem Mag compared to the 7mm Wby Mag. The Rem Mag on average will have a slightly larger case capacity but for some reason, the Wby Magnum is loaded to much higher pressures and is often totted as having 150-200 fps velocity advantage over the 7mm Rem Mag. Anyone that has loaded for either of these 7mm rounds know that the 7mm Rem Mag is at least the full equal to the 7mm Wby Mag when fed proper handloaded ammo and not the whimpy factory loaded 7mm Rem Mag ammo. Anyway, just curious why one would want to deal with soft Wby brass which is EXTREMELY expensive when you could just get a rifle built in a tight chambered 264 Win Mag, get the same accuracy, same performance at least and save so much in brass cost and likely get longer brass life as well, especially if you use Winchester brass which is generally on the harder side and MUCH harder then any Wby brass made. Wby brass is not known to play well with top end chamber pressures. If you want real meaningful velocity gains over the 264 Win Mag class of chambering, I would recommend you look at a 6.5 STW or 6.5 Dakota. Just my opinion, Not knocking these guys but from my experience, they have repackaged the great old 264 Win Mag and just put a new name on it and a double radius shoulder but in the end no difference in performance or accuracy potential.
