Last day of Alabama deer season. My neighbor who is a great guy and helps everyone else out had very invasive back surgery just before Christmas. He had been in to much pain to hunt earlier in the season. His Dr. Gave him the ok as long as he didn't bend over or pick up anything. So I gave up my spot by the center pivot where we had been seeing and killing deer all season. Conditions were bad. Wind and sixty two degrees temp. Plus out of the moon phase. But myself and my friend set him up and prayed for a deer. With six minutes of shooting time left I spotted one and ranged it at 226 yards. Got him on and was saying to myself shoot, shoot. Boom, the blast from the muzzle break rang my ears. I forgot to put on the muffs in the hurry. Deer just dropped at the shot. I was one happy camper. He was almost in tears. But men fist bump. It was a mature doe but it was a trophy for us. . Rosebud.
