Jacket recommendations?

I'm looking for a warm, very quiet, mid-season jacket recommendation for bowhunting. I'm a trad archer so my shots are always 20 yards or less so a quiet jacket is essential. I have an old Kuiu Kenai that was pretty good but the newer ones seem too fragile and don't fit me as well. What would you folks recommend? Many thanks!

I use combinations of an early version sitka 90%, an old Kryptec Kratos primaloft puffy, and an early version sitka Mountain Jacket from August thru mid October.

I guess that I'm old and think "old school"…..wool. Wool is about as silent as you can get! Wool is great unless it gets wet, still insulates but gets heavy when wet! memtb

It literally does not get quieter, and with proper base layers underneath I doubt you'd need much warmer. A camping YouTuber I follow uses one of these in -40 temps in Alaskan winter. Being he's moving around and you're likely sedentary in a stand, I feel it won't keep you warm to the same temps, but above -10 you'd be well off with it all day. Too much below that and I'd invest in a Milwaukee heated vest base layer and some spare batteries to keep your core warm. They're super well made, custom to boot, and for cheaper than the plastic coats with name brand camo on them.

Here's a good review for the anorak I mentioned in the above comment and covers my opinions on it well. Mine wasn't the camo one but the brown one. I haven't seen it since I moved however so it's either buried somewhere or stolen, but if I don't find it I'm 100% buying another. Having neck protection from the elements is a huge deal for staying warm, which if you watch the vid you'll understand how it works.

For mid season I prefer a light, early season shell of great quality and then layer under it. Layers may be wool, polypropylene, or even a hoodie depending on weather. Can't help with brand as it seems they change year to year and a good shell will last a decade.

Whatever you buy, make sure it has a Wind Blocker sewn inside. It will make a huge, repeat, huge difference in warmth and comfort if windy, even a very light wind. You can decrease bulk and use less insulation by having that Wind Blocker.
