Ammo availability has sucked horribly for over a year and more. Now that it is becoming available the retailers want to gouge the daylights out of you. So what to do? Since I am in love with the SAUER-100S Field Shoot (German Rifle) I am going to pass on the 6.5 for sake of practicality. I have plenty of .308 and 7.62 x 51 ammunition and it would be stupid for me to buy a rifle that is so expensive to feed. The .308 is consistently accurate and capable of taking down most game; ie.
I was at one point hotter than a chili pepper for buying a 6.5PRC rifle. Elk, Mule Deer & White Tail or Moose. Since I confirmed SAUER builds their same rifle in .308 configuration and will take the practical road. IF the TEOTWAWKI (The End Of The World As We Know It ) scenario comes to pass there will always be plenty of available .308 when 6.5PRC and Creedmoor vanishes. Your situation is one that I want to avoid. If I had purchased the 6.5 prc I would be stuck right now. I feel somewhat liberated now and man I truly feel your pain.
