If my max range was only 500 or so, I would consider Hammer bullets. In a standard 26" .260, with RL26 you may be able to get the 156 up to 2700-2750 or so, take off around 100 fps for most other powders. The 140's with rl26 may break 2900-2950, again, minus 100 fps for most other powders. [QUOTE="codyadams, post: 1906291, member: 87243"] I shoot both a .260 AI and a .264 win mag. If your within 200 fps with a standard 22" barreled .260, than your either REALLY overloading your .260 or really underloading your .264 wm. In my .260AI with a 29" barrel, using Reloder 26, I shoot the 156 EOL at 2940 fps, pressure signs appeared at 2980-3000, and that is a HBN coated bullet, out of an ackley improved .260, with a 29" barrel. The 26" .264 wm shoots the same bullet at 3225 with first initial signs of pressure, and will comfortably run at 3175 using Retumbo. All I'm saying, is that I am guessing there is some more velocity on the table for the .264 wm. But I have used the 140 VLD out of my .260AI, going 2930 fps with h4831sc, and 3070 using rl26, and taken pronghorn to elk out to over 900 yards. I have also used the 147 eld-m, which I don't recommend at all, and I have used the 156 EOL, which worked fantastic this year on some 14 animals we used them on, again from pronghorn to elk. These are what I would think would be max numbers, your best load would be under somewhat more than likely.
