The 17 because of its velocity and slightly flatter flight path is easier for people to hit targets with, but I would be ashamed if I could not hit a coke can with every rifle in my safe at 100 yards. Both the 22 mag and 17 hmr are fun to shoot, there is no comparison to a centerfire. My 17 Remington throws 20gr pills at 4200 fps, but the 223 is a better overall caliber.</p></blockquote><p></p>
