Based on what I’ve heard from the original post, I believe what they are doing is, first of all very wrong on most all levels. And their primary goal is to ignore long enough that you’ll go away. It’s also possible that they are delaying any sort of response to allow enough time to pass to mitigate any possibility of an injury claim. It really puts you in a difficult position and there is no clear cut obvious path forward. I’m not a litigious person and I’d say you’d be hard pressed to find one on this forum, but I do believe in standing up for yourself when you’re being treated unfairly. I would probably call again and try to find out the chain of command, then work your way to the highest rung of the ladder. Tell them, in no uncertain terms, that you are not going to let this go and it could easily go away by replacing the rifle. Should they choose not to do so, you’ll have no choice but to exhaust all legal resources to pursue a remedy. That type of dialogue could inspire them to resolve the matter. But it may not. At that point, you can either cut your losses and hope karma prevails or talk to an attorney. If you wanted to take legal action, I’d try to arrange a no cost initial discussion with a larger corporate firm who is accustomed to taking on (or defending) large business entities like Beretta. I would hate to throw good money after bad....but you may find that a simple letter from a bona fide law firm could facilitate a satisfactory solution. Good luck and I hope things work out in your favor.
