I had some people ask on the 338 SS so information is below on that rifle. dont know how it shoots haven't had time to load up rounds. I built it to shoot the hammer 260gr. Straight Jacket Armory built it for me on my stiller long action with a 1 in 9.4 twist 24; Barrel with brake I maxed out Rich's reamers for the 260 grain Hammer mono. Straight Jacket tried one powder type (RL17 at 63grs) at max length and hit pressure at 2,750FPS now this is with a long mono with alot of bearing surface we are guessing if i ran 250gr bergers i could hit close to or over 3,000FPS. My plans today are to call Steve at Hammer and send the rifle to him to reload on this one because its kind of an unknown bullet in the 338 SS and as far as I am aware no one has a chamber cut as long as this one is. I have included pics of the loaded round and comparisons to other calibers . For comparision second picture is Left 6CM center 6.5PRC right 338 Sherman
