I got my rifle back two weeks ago. Got glass and other goodies on it yesterday and started the break-in process. The gun is a 7mm Rem Mag built on my old Remington 700 action that was also a 7mm Rem Mag. The barrel is a 29 inch stainless steel Criterion barrel. It starts at the full 1.25" and tapers to .975 at the muzzle. Twist rate is 1-7.5" so I can shoot any heavy 7mm projectile without fear. The muzzle brake is an ASI 3 Port Maxi Brake. The barrel and action were blueprinted by Accuracy Systems, and they added a new bolt with a Sako style extractor. The stock is an HS Precision with adjustable length of pull and cheek height. They added the Wyatt bottom metal and 3 mags, which will add a fair amount to the COL available to me. I went with a Leupold Mark 5 HD 7x35-56 for my scope in MOA and the PR2 reticle. Went with extra high Leupold Mark 4 rings. I also added a USO anti-cant level and a Harris bipod. I am breaking the gun in with 168 Berger VLD hunting boolits of H1000 that the old gun used to love. I put 33 on paper today, and I was impressed since I was cleaning the gun every three shots, and the load wasn't worked up for this rifle. I included the test target that Accuracy Systems sent back with the gun as well, showing a .250" three shot group using 180 grain Berger VLD's. I've got a ways to go, finishing break-in and for load development. But I am super excited by what I've seen so far. I think I have a shooter!
