I've got a million pictures & videos of animals staring at and shying away from the cameras, especially deer and coyotes, so they do notice the flash or glow from the cameras and it can effect their behavior. For public land I use the Primos proof cam 02 & 03 because they're cheap and easy on batteries. I had one out for over 6 months that took over 10,000 pictures. I usually buy last years model on clearance from Ebay in the $60 range. For private land I use Bushnell trophy cam HD or similar in the $110 range(last years model also), much better but equally good on batteries.
