[QUOTE="bigbuck, post: 732267, member: 18377"] In my state it is very rare to find a setup like I see you guys in Co, MT Idaho have . I found a nice little spot where I can get atleast 50 to 1000 yards hunting and I have found a spot that I can shoot a rock @ 1684 yards . I ran into a guy that said he saw a nice buck just below the pic that has my rifle in it. I didnt get to this spot early enough this morning , two guys beat me there . They left because they said they couldnt shoot that far and I told em I was going to try my luck , they then told me that if I had been 30 minutes early I could have seen 8 does walk around the side of the MTN. I hunted a few hours and the wind started to blow . I have just gotten my rifle and Exbal matched up as far as elevation but I havent been shooting with wind corrections . I decided before I left that I needed to see how I could shoot in this terrain its as close to canyon country as I can get here in the south . I had a 3 mile and hour wind from right to left nearly a full value . I ranged a rather large size rock the Leica said 900 yards Exbal said I needed 1 1/2 MOA windage but by the time I got settled in I noticed the wind had died down a bit so I re checked with my Kestrel and it confirmed that I had 1 1/2 mile and hour wind . So I only dialed .75 MOA got set up checked the anti cant level (good) pre loaded the bipods just a bit and sent one on its way . I watched the impact and it was dead nuts elevation and windage wise . I can only imagine how hooked I will be when I actually take a deer . I found out from the game warden that I can hunt from the opposite side of the bluff . There is deer tracts within 6 feet from my gun and I also spooked some from about 50 yards yesterday evening on the top of the bluff that I shot from , so this means I can relocate and I can hopefully get a long range shot gun) Note: you cannot see in the pics but there is several openings in the hardwoods that I should be able shoot thru.
