Get a stainless steel barrel and you can shoot surplus ammo. You still will have to clean it like a Blackpowder rifle but it will be much more durable. Heck since NC took away the caliber restrictions about 5 years ago, I've taken a dozen or more with 22lr!!! Under 50 yds just hit em in the head!
