I'm new to the forum, just joined, this is my second post only. I'm not in the US, woke up this morning grabbed the laptop to see if I'd had any replies and saw this post. I was shocked and saddened to read it, coming from Australia its almost incompressible, what a senseless loss of life. While we share some many similarities sometimes the differences between our countries is sometimes stark. I was lucky enough to be in North Carolina and Alabama Feb 2020, hunting (and doing a photography residency in Wilson NC), driving with a friend I asked why were all the bridges named after (I think it was) State Troopers, he said they are ones that had died in line of duty!!! I could not drive over a bridge without thinking of that. LE, in fact all first responders really put it out there for all of us - I thought the piece of writing about the wolf, the dog and sheep put it so eloquently. They really do go out there with a target on their back, more literally in America I suspect, I don't not the USA rates of death from attack, in Australia it is small (68 deaths since 1948), that said ANY attack on police, medics, fire etc. is abhorrent. Such a dreadful and senseless loss of life, please be & stay safe. I hope to wake up to read stories of hunting, boasting of trophy sizes and arguments about calibers. Take care Bronek
