Congrats for getting it done. It's not easy doing it all by hand without previous experience. How it shoots is the main issue . Getting a good stress free bedding job is very important . If you lay the gun on a bench and slowly loosen the front action screw while watching the gap between the barrel and the forend channel you will get some idea of how good it is. The less movement the better. Do the same at the rear . I know what you mean about waiting for deals , that is the bane of my life . I have mostly finished my latest project and I am slower than you . Mine has taken 4 years from when I bought the first parts . Can't help with paint jobs as I have never painted a stock . I am in the same boat as you . I have a raw machined alloy rail stock and no idea of how to finish it or what is the best way. Some say anodised it , some say Dura coat. It shoots like it is so maybe I will not bother but it's a bit on the shiny side . Good to see someone else doing it the hard way.
