There was a huge bump in sales in March (Lock down for Covid) which amounted to 3.7 million guns sold and there was a huge bump in June (Riots) which amounted to 3.9 million guns sold. Thats not twice as many. Thats like 6% or 7%. Sorry, don't feel like doing the math in my head. You state that last month was another record in sales but it wasn't as high as March. You say the gun sales are not driven by Covid which is not backed by the numbers. The numbers seem to show that they are backed by both but you are correct in that the riots caused a slight uptick from the covid levels. You are also correct that people are frightened by the riots. My ex-father in law is terrified that ANTIFA is going to throw bricks at his house. He is terrified if he goes to downtown Nashville, he will get caught up in all of the rioting that is going on. There is no rioting going on in downtown Nashville but you will never convince him of it. All he watches is Fox News so I blame them. There was a couple of days back in June right after ther George Floyd incident where people got crazy. Some people tried to burn down the courthouse. It was very minor damage. Turns out they were meth heads with nothing better to do. My point was that people are more afraid of armed militia walking through crowded streets of protestors especially when they belong to alt right groups that are praying and preparing for a civil war and have confederate flags hanging off the back of their vehicles. It sure scares me and I am a gun loving, deer hunting, southern boy. I can just imagine what its doing to the city folks.

Gingrich never mentioned BLM or ANTIFA. He mentioned helping liberals get elected that let criminals go so they could riot and then he got shut down. I don't know what actual role Soros has played in all of this if anything at all but it seems like he is getting blamed because people don't like him and not because there is any evidence to back up anything people are saying. He seems like a liberal equivalent of the Koch brothers. Unless Gingrich presents some sort of evidence, its just hearsay. He also makes it sound like all of these rioters and all of the millions of dollars in damage are a direct result of police hating liberals funded by Soros letting them out of jail. Sounds like a load of bull. I could be wrong. If someone can show that the majority of rioters arrested had criminal backgrounds and were released by liberal DA's who have been proven to take money from Soros, I will admit that I was wrong and Gingrich was right.

I apologize to the OP. [QUOTE="JimFromTN, post: 1981882, member: 113268"] Not playing down the numbers. You stated the following "The NICS system shows 10 million firearms sold this year since the riots started. People mistakenly point to Covid as the stimulus, but there were far more NICS checks after the riots started than when the lockdowns started; almost two to one.
