I have a 300 RUM, it is a Remington 700, I had a Vias muzzlebrake added, stock bedded and pillared(sp). It was shooting better than 3/4" groups two weeks ago. Walked it out to a 1000 yards. It was dialed in. I am in the middle of a limited entry mule deer hunt. I let my buddy try and shoot a coyote in a field, let him know to aim low, gun is zeroed at 300 yards. He shoots high a couple of times. I shoot it, and it won't keep a group. Check the scope and take it too the range where there is a guy who puts them in a vice. He shoots it and again it is all over the place. So, its either the bullets or the gun. The bullets that I am shooting were loaded up the same time as the bullets that were so accurate, so I am pretty sure that its not the bullets. So I am worried that its the rifle. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am going to call a couple gunsmiths tomorrow, but thought I would throw it out here first. The group is now bigger than 4" and I am shooting 200g Accubonds and 95g of Rutumbo. No pressure signs.
