I have a short action magnum bolt face single shot 40X action and stock that needs a new tube. I'm looking to make a 29" heavy barrel with a #17 or #18 krieger. I just need to decide what caliber. Intended goal is 1000yrds to 1800 or even 2000. I was looking at another 7wsm or a 28 Nosler with a 1:8 or 1:7.5 for the 190 to 197 bullets. But I've also considered a 33 nosler. What would you guys build on this action for these needs?
My lr hunting rifle is a 7wsm that I've taken to 1400 yards with several 8-9" groups in good conditions but I don't want to put all the additional rounds on my favorite hunting gun.
