I have had great results with my 6.5-284 and the 147 eld-m. I have a 26" barrel and am getting 2950 FPS. I have shot two antelope at middle distances (485 and 525) both one shot drop on the spot. This combination has killed 7 deer ranging from 200 yards to 585 and they have either dropped in their tracks or only gone a short distance. It has also killed two elk. A spike at 480 yards, first shot hit him right in shoulder and lungs and he was standing there wobbling and I am a firm believer with elk if they are standing I am shooting so I gave him another one right behind the shoulder and he dropped. I shot a cow with them at 625 yards and put two 2" apart right behind her shoulder in the ribcage and through the lungs. She was the same, she was doing the death wobble but I didn't want her getting in a bad spot below where she was feeding so I gave her another one. I have been extremely impressed with this bullet/gun combination. I would not hesitate to use them on big game animals. I am located in Montana. Hope this helps and happy hunting!
