[QUOTE="Broz, post: 628442, member: 7503"] As you all know I am a huge fan of the 210 Berger VLD, and have been for years. The amount of elk and other game we have taken with this bullet is stunning, and have never tracked an animal. Last season my son "Young-Gun" wanted to test the 230 Hybrid OTM in his 300 win and we did. We really like them and they dropped plenty of game DRT for us. But then comes along the 215 Berger Hybrid. So I decided to give them a whirl in my 300 win. My rifle is sending the 210 from a 28" Broughton 1 in 10 to a MV of 2995 average with h-1000 in Lapua brass. The question is, can I get these 215's close to that speed? If so they definatly have some things to offer. I just got 3 boxes of the 215's today and will soon begin testing. Right now I sit here with calipars and comparator in hand sizing the two up. I was pretty shocked at the difference in length right off the bat. The 215 sure is a racey looking bullet. Here are a few numbers:................ 210............................. 215 OAL= ---------------------------- 1.490" -------------------- 1.620" Base to O-give-------------------- .794" -------------------- .844" Length of boat tail----------------- .165" -------------------- .222" Advertised G1 BC's----------------- .631 --------------------- .696 These are only rough measurements with less than lab quality equipment, so take a few thousands for error.
