Not sure if this is the right place/forum for this. The topic falls under herd management and maybe some other places. Please move it to another section if needed. I just wanted to see what peoples opinions were on the recent CPW Commission meeting where they talked about doing away with over the counter archery in Colorado. The meeting was mid January. They spoke about taking away OTC in some grand Mesa units and potentially in 2024 all OTC archery. I could go either way on it, but they need to look at OTC rifle concurrently. I also think they need to prioritize resident hunters if they go to draw only. It’s not surprising they may go to draw only for elk in Colorado, it’s been that for deer for a long time. Colorado over the counter elk seems to be a western state catch all for our neighbors who are draw only. :)
