I've never done this with a 338 RUM specifically, but I've run quite a few reamers deep to stretch a chamber for a wildcat idea. You'll usually end up with a slightly over sized chamber at the case web, but it's nothing I've ever worried about. I've created a similar situation by using 404 Jeffery brass for RUM based cartridges. The 404 case is slightly smaller at the web than a standard RUM case so you end up with a bit of a bulge. It's never been an issue for me and I've done some TERRIBLE things to that brass and it's still going strong. You can always run 338 Edge cases into a 375 RUM die to size down the web and use a 338 RUM die to neck size and bump the shoulder if you don't want to get the Edge dies.
