To hunt most of Canada you must either be Outfitted and guided or have dealings with a hotel, camp or such that will sign the paper so you can buy a license. I have Caribou hunted Quebec 2 times. 1991 Sept 8-14 flew Montreal to Scheffervile and Otter 200 miles NW with Delay River (Out of Bussiness) Bow hunted but borrowed a rifle for one bull to keep the camp percentage up. 2007 Sept 3 to 11 Flew Montreal to Caniapiscau and Otter to camp. We had to hunt just the local Caribou Herd. It snowed about 2 to 3 inches our 4th day. The last day only 4 animals was down, 1 decent bull. The last morning going from the Bunk House to the kitchen we saw 4 groups of about 30 animals crossing the lake. By 10 am we had 8 animals down. I got a 50' spread bull, His Bez and shovel has few points. Looked better, but when the velvet came off it was not as good as I expected. In 1991 the morning of the Sept. 14th about half the bulls had stripped their velvet. If I ever go back to Boo hunt I want to go about the 20th of Sept. so the bulls will have their antlers stripped/hardened and you can better judge as a trophy. Be prepared for delays from weather in the north. Good Luck on your plans.
