Since this is a public forum, let me say this: I am all for a bumpstock ban if it had been done this way; 1) Passed by Congress and the Senate, signed by the President. Since they are legally owned Personal Property, the bill should include either a Grandfather Clause, or compensation to the owners. This I would get behind and support. This is the traditional and proper way to ban anything. The issue I have with this is a non-elected Government Agency rewriting a duly passed law to suit the current Political Climate. I believe they neither have this power, nor should they. This is how this will, and should be tested in the Courts. If the people of this country lose this fight, I am afraid the Genie will be out of the bottle, never to return. Maybe I'm just a tired old fool, but lately it seems there are quite a few folks inside the beltway that have absolutely no respect for the rule of law if it interferes with their personal agenda. Moreover, there is no one up there that is willing to hold them accountable for those actions. I want my children and grandchildren to grow up in the country I did, with all the opportunity, privileges, and individual rights, that makes America unique among nations. Gun owners are easy to split with an issue like this. Push back against this ban will get little support. These folks are much smarter than we give them credit for. Some of them crave, and will stop at nothing to achieve power. We are standing in their way. They will divide and pick off little groups of us given the chance. They have always operated this way and will continue to do so given the opportunity. I am too old to fight or be of any threat to anyone. All I can possibly do is donate money to those who are willing to take this fight to the Courts, which I will. Even though it will make little or no difference in the grand scheme of things, and they will most likely lose, I will sleep better knowing at least I did do something.
