I have zero experience with moly bullets. I have a friend shooting them and he claims he gets 100 fps better velocity out of his 270 WSM. He does the moly coating himself. It seemed to be a craze for a while but I see very few shooters using moly bullets and manufacturers are making less of them. Lilja has a good article on it. He addresses the issues of fouling and barrel life, but not velocity. Lilja Precision Rifle Barrels - FAQ It doesn't sound like moly helps barrel life and if you stay on top of cleaning it doesn't hurt it either. Is another 100 fps worth the cost and effort of coating your bullets? I might experiment with the 180 E-Tips someday, but if I end up shooting the GS HV's there will be no point. The GS moly is a whole different animal. It's not supposed to foul like other molys and supposed to clean up with just regular cleaning. So i was just wondering what your experience was.
