So since we are coming up on a year I figured I would update this post as sort of a finale. Got the head back a few months ago and the hide a few months after that, came in way earlier than expected so I had to work to get the room redone in order to hang him up in between our two big fishing tournaments. Ended up building a wall out on a 45 in the corner, every other place I tried to put him stuck him out too far. This way works as best as he fits in the corner and you don’t see his true size until you get up next to him. It’s a neat optical illusion and it fits well with the bear I got a couple years ago. The hide ended up being around 6ft by 3ft, wasn’t sure where to put it so as a joke to my fiancé I threw it on the end of the bed. Turns out it’s warm and she loves it so there it stays. The skull I’m still working on deciding where to put it, I had several plans but now two deer heads are heading into the room next year one on each side of the bison so I’m losing a bunch more wall space. I’m thinking I might build a coat rack out of some logs and hang him on the top of it to set in the other corner behind the bear. Even though it’s not as cold and snowy as where he is from he is getting into the festive season. I came home from work last week to find a Santa hat on his horn. Since the bear is on the wall instead of the floor this year my fiancé didn’t want Mr. Buffalo to be left out so he got the bear’s Santa hat while she was decorating. I think he looks good with the hat and lights, all he needs is a red nose to light Santa’s way.
