I woke up this morning to see this email in my inbox. It came in a little after midnight on a Sunday night Monday morning. I thought everyone would like to see this. Lorenzo really does care about keeping his customers informed about their builds. He is a great all around person to deal with and his love for what he does shows. He isn't a 8 to 5 Monday to Friday kind of guy but it looks like he is always working! Most of my contact with him has been after 8pm when he is doing the boring paper work of running a business. I hope he is keeping the Boss happy otherwise he might wind up sleeping in the shop! Happy wife=Happy life!::D Deadly Precision Gunsmithing Lorenzo Young deadlyprecisiongunsmithing@live.com 12:09 AM (7 hours ago) to me Hey Bill, I spent the afternoon on your build. I've got the action trued. I took a few pics I'll forward later. The first challenge was removing the barrel. Removing factory barrels can provide good exercise. Remington uses a 450lb gorilla to wrench barrels on with NASA approved loctite. Several years to develop a bit of corrosion inside helped make this barrel particularly stubborn. Truing the action, I took time to note what it took to clean everything up. The face of the receiver showed no more than fifty percent contact. Obtaining a nice square face required removing six thousandths. The lug abutments required three thousandths to clean up. The threads were about average, slightly off center and out of parallel with the bolt. I opened the threads twelve thousandths to achieve perfect concentricity and alignment. The bolt is in the fixture, ready to cut the lugs and face. Typically, I remove one thousandths from bolt lugs and bolt face. I'll take pics as I go and keep you posted. I'll put up a thread if you like.
