You're right, I was thinking about a .307" bullet grip but the bushing I tried was .329". Suppose I could order some intermediate bushings between the .361" that I use for the 338RUM and the .329" that I have for 30 caliber. From the case drawings the 300 Dakota would need a little bolt face work and the barrel would have to be set back a little more. The velocities for the 300 win mag and 300 Dakota are almost identical in the manuals, was hoping for a little more but not as much as the 300RUM. Also have lots of 338RUM brass. A 30/375 Ruger would be nice as I also have lots of 375 Ruger brass but someone would have to have a reamer or I would have to have one made. Call me crazy, but I always wanted a beltless 300 win mag that would push the 200 gr Accubond at an honest 3000 fps, the 300 win mag won't quite get there.
