I agree. That was not in this bill that I could see. That said, they are going after these gun manufacturers based on their “marketing“ and breaking some state level marketing laws. I saw a picture from the Daniel Defense ad. That image has occurred in my home. It is called teaching kids right and wrong in their formative years. My kids had some interest in guns at a young age. I showed them guns while talking them through checking the gun is empty. We talked through the four rules and how they applied to this situation. We put them back into safe storage which nobody has access to except me. We also reviewed Eddie Eagle materials and went to a couple gun shows. They have gone shooting a few times. The attack on Daniel Defense needs to go to the Supreme Court. I don’t see how states are legally circumventing federal law. So, what could be done legally? Well, could we follow up through the schools on are the parents connected to their children? Are the children on pace for learning? If not, are the parents engaged with the school on a catch up plan? If not, report them to CPS for follow up? Do the children need mental health counseling? Has the school counselor evaluated? With a counselor’s recommendation, did the parents seek professional mental health treatment? No….report to CPS. Fund CPS to create parenting plans? Are parents following? If not, kids get removed and placed. Yes, this is expensive. Yes, as part of this, the state should collect costs from these parents, but the parents will have nothing. This will increase tax burden, but it is the right thing to do. It will benefit all Americans and their safety.
