[QUOTE="pacowboy, post: 246991, member: 8669"] Looks like this thread has slowed down but I thought I would chime in anyway. I am close to Gettysburg. Have lived and hunted in PA all my life. Except for the 4 1/2 years I was in the Air Force. My cousin and I are looking to get into long range hunting. My dad had a rifle built specifically for that in the late 70's early 80's. One awesome looking and shooting gun. It's a 7mm/300 WBY Mag. Interarms Mark X action, Douglas air gauged 28" SS Barrel topped with a Nikon 3-12X50 scope. The stock was custom made by my dad. Cherry and curly maple laminated, monte carlo style with thumbhole and rosewood tip and pistol grip cap. Has produced a little over a 5" group at just over 600 yards in the past. Our thoughts on long range hunting kind of passed when my dad passed away in 94 from Lou Gerhigs disease. That and with my cousin and I getting married and having kids(Not with each other, thats in WV LOL), you know how that is with money and time. We are looking to check out some places in Centre, Clinton, Potter, Lycoming and Tioga counties. No roadside stuff here, we are planning on packing in. This year I was stuck in Adams County and had a really long shot there. Killed a big doe on a private farm at about 25yards with a 243. Just another reason to pack back in for a few days and hunt long range. Hope everyone had a safe and successful season.
