I had a cow get immobilized while calving. This is where their nerve that functions their hind quarters gets pinched by the fetus passing through the birth canal. As the calf was being born the coyotes ate on it killing it. The cow in distress prolapsed and thus her uterus was exposed and coyotes chewed on it as well. Thus the cow had to be put out of her misery. I figured why allow her to die in vain? I chose a location in an open field and set her up. Placed a Target right beside her and sighted in dead on there. It paced off 349 paces. Over the next few weeks I shot 13 coyotes off that bait. It was winter time with bare frozen ground so the rodent prospects were poor and the coyotes were coming by the gross during daylight hours. I situated the bait such that I could access my shooting position without being detected. Three44s
