I finally got out to the range this weekend with the Ruger after I relieved the pressure at the front of the stock and floated the barrel. The groups shrank by about .5 inch. I shot 3 different types of ammo and compared it to a used LH LSS Remington(.30-06' also)that I have just purchased and hadn't shot yet. I shot 4 targets with each, for 3 shot groups at 100 yds. The average for the 3 types of ammo for the Ruger was a group size of 2.14"(2.5,2.59, 2.07,1.39). Whether the 1.39" was a fluke or not I don't know as I ran out of ammo and time. The Remington fared better with 1.14" average groups(1.55,1.31,.895,.810). It appears to be a shooter. I may bed the action in the Ruger to see if I can get anymore of an improvement or perhaps now is a good time to get rid of it. Thanks to all who've given their input. Pat S.
