Got a few more rounds down range today with the .300 weatherby and IMR-4451 Weatherby Mark V 24" tube (I put 26" in my last post) Weatherby brass, new CCI-250 178gr AH IMR-4451 3.610" COAL indoor range ~70deg. Magnetospeed sporter 74gr--2968 75gr--3039 76gr--3105 77gr--3140 77.5gr--3177 78gr--3168 78.5gr--3198 79gr--3202 79.5gr--3245 No pressure signs anywhere, no dimples, no flattening primers, ejector marks, nothing. Should I keep going with this one? For you experts out there, why do i get a bit of stalling then a jump in velocity? Are 1/2gr increments not enough in a larger case like this one? I typically shoot 2-3 rounds with a minute or more in between, then put the rifle down for several minutes while I shoot something else. The barrel would cool faster if I were outside in the breeze i'm sure, but I never let them get too hot. Looking at my data with IMR-4955 I got 3253 at 80gr, 3299 with 81gr and a slight ejector mark. So maybe I should keep rolling with this one since I'm not getting any pressure signs yet and see where I end up.
