I went down this same road with wanting to get the 7mmRUM as well. After much looking around and tring to find brass to reload I settled on a 300RUM sendero. First 3 shots with 178 a-max were toughing. Not bad for just starting breaken it in. Prior to purchase I started running some numbers on the bergers 210VLD's. If I can get 3050 to 3000 ft/sec you can push them a long long ways out there. I will say this a good recoil pad or a muzzle break will come in handy on this gun. Once this gun is broke in and dial in with a matching turret it going in the safe for most of the time. I must say I perfer overall shooting my 6.5. I'm also in the process of building a standard 7RemMag to shoot the 168 bergers. Really I dont think deer or elk will care if inside 1000yrds when shooting these rounds with the exception of the 6.5. Remember the animal e shoot will bleed and die just like you and me. But if its what you want and you have the money to burn than I alway say do it...Because this way you never look back in life thinking what if I had...x.y.or done z...:)gun)
