7mm rem mag 7828

I'm not disputing the accuracy by any means but my 06 will shoot 2750 with 180 gr eldx st 3/4 MOA
The eldx has a better bc better muzzle velocity and acceptable to me accuracy. My "problem" is that makes my 7 mag at current velocity obsolete. What's the point of burning 8 more grains of powder?

I have the Sierra data and I'm not a berger fan although it's just opinion as I dont have personel experience.

Just found out from my local gunshop that IMR 7828 is being discontinued so I guess I will be finding a new powder either way

So I bought a magneto speed sporter and finally got to play today. I have an accurate load for my 7 mm RM with 160 gr Sierra but I knew it was slow with only 60.5 of 7828 behind it. I calculated it at 2700 fps with drop data and the new toy confirmed 2681 avg with an sd of 9. It shoots great but what's the point of a 7 mag at that velocity.

Long story short I loaded up my final 6 bullets at 65 and 65.5 grains of IMR 7828. They both shot close to half MOA which is all I'm looking for really but I dont have any more to load to chrono. I dont have any pressure signs but that's 1 grain over book max (depending on book).

Can anyone with quick load give me an estimated velocity guess. If its linear I can simply do the math but I'm guessing pressure curves aren't (hence curves).

Sierra SPBT 160 gr model #1920
IMR 7828
Federal 215 large mag primer
Hornady cases
Loaded CBTO is 2.726 (fit in Tikka mag)
24" barrel

I dont want to buy more 7828 if I cant get to 2950 or so

Any advice on my next powder? Its likely going to be 4831sc or the newer enduron 7977. I'm ideally looking for 3000 give or take with a 160gr pill

I have been having good results using H4831sc for both of my Magnum Cartridge
Loads, for the 7mm Remington Magnum this is one of the loads I am using :

Hornady 162gr. BTHP-Match
59gr. - H4831sc
2,800fps - 0.610 B.C.
Fed. 215 LM Primer
Hornady Cases
3.290" C.O.L.

Or if you want to speed it up, this would probably be a good Load :

Hornady 162gr. ELD-Match
68gr. - H1000
3,000fps - 0.652 B.C.

On 160gr and 162gr bullets with 62.5gr of RL19 I'm at 3,050 avg out of my 26" barrel, and at 3,000 avg with 60gr of IMR-4350, thats not bad.

I've read lots of people complaining of lack of the availability if the RL26

I can get another 70 to 100 fps with Magnum or Retumbo but with 8 to 10 more grs of powder?

I don't have problems with weather temperatures where it will make a difference for me.

I bought some more bullets and scraped my powder to get a few more loads. I got up to 67 grains at 2980 with no pressure so I will likely stick with 7828 for now as long as I can source a couple pounds to keep playing

Just so you guys know, a R#26 will very accurately shoot a 160g accubond at 3200 with a 28" barrel, this is some serious mo jo. Throat is a tad longer than factory.

When someone finds it, they buy every pound they have on the shelf. It has a very slow pressure curve, unlike H1000.
