yep tried new brass both Hornady and Sig Sauer. BUT I believe I found the problem. This bolt face has the floating spring snap in ejector. It seems to be boogered up and seems to not want to stay in place..I am hoping this is the simple fix and not lugs. tobnpr: This was a used rifle I bought and tore down for a build. I knew nothing of the history and it was a roll of the dice I took. I could not test anything since it was on line buy which is a lottery ticket chance that looks like it may be a losing ticket. I did the rebarreling which I have done many times before without incident and this was first time I ran into this issue. Maybe just lucky? The first thought I have is exactly your thought as well that it was borderline to start and any material removal took it off line. I sent him an email today and he called me within an hour of the email sent so he wants me to send it back to him which I will do. I was posting up just in case I was missing something else.
