Whenever you are aiming up or downward, it will shoot higher that when you shot flat at the range.</p><p>I shot a 5-pt. bull elk at about 60-yards down hill, and he was facing me, and I aimed the crosshairs under his chin on his chest, I shot and he just dropped to the 165-gr. Nosler Partition bullet from my 700 BDL 30-06. - He was belly up and legs twitching, then he died. But I did not see any entrance hole on his chest. - What happened is that it shot high over his head between his antlers and impacted down his spine. I saw his eyes bulge in the 4x Leupold. (Teton NP Special Leftover Permit 1996 -- shot him in the hills and we had horses -- not at the Elk Refuge.) Baffled, I shot it at the range again, and it was shooting the same as before.</p><p></p><p>A year later in Casper, WY at the Event Center, I met Wayne Van Zwoll, and I mentioned that hunt.
