[QUOTE="vancewalker007, post: 2029634, member: 66917"] I used a 7mm STW for years. I was some what finicky. It took some effort to get it to shoot but would get down under 1/2 MOA. This started before range finders and ballistic apps were widely available. We made cases by fire-forming 300 Weatherby case. I have a friend that was crazy anxious to get a 6.5-300. He was in love with velocity. When he tried loading for it he spent a lot of barrel life chasing groups. He eventually found some combinations that worked but I think he used up about 1/2 of its barrel life. Not saying this is going to happen to you, just saying it happened. If I was going to build a big 7 I'd build a 28 Nosler. Its a standard cartridge and has decent brass availability, no belt, and is more of a shorter fatter case design than the long 7 STW cases which I'm convinced are not as efficient as the shorter fatter cases. Of course if you're willing to put up with single source brass there are other wildcat 7s and 30s that will out run the 28 some. Frankly for hunting the super accurate ballistics tools and range finders nullify the elevation issues super fast cartridges were fighting and to a deer or and elk there is very little difference between 3000fps and 3200fps just saying.
