To make a long story short, I worked up a load that my Savage 110 FCP HS Precision in 338 Lapua Mag likes. Shooting quarter MOA @ 100yds with 250GR Sierra MK's. Shot it through my Chrony and over a Magnetospeed. Chrony says avg fps were 2800. Magneto says 2840. I plugged the 2840 and all other data into my BulletFLT program very meticulously to ensure the accuracy of the data inputs. I headed to my range to verify the drop @ 820 yds. Program lists correction @ 20.0 MOA. after two misses and corrections I start to ring the plate. Those corrections brought me from 20 MOA to 18 MOA. I was not worried about wind deflection so I shot a group concentrating on the drop data. My group measured 2" vertically, which I was very happy with. Now here is the problem. To correct the program I have to bump my velocity from 2840 to 2945. That seems like a big jump to me. Especially since the velocity from the Magneto should be very accurate. Should I change the BC of the bullet also or should I leave it alone. The bc listed is .587 G1. is that the most recent data from sierra? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
